Biking for your health: 8 reasons why you should definitely take a ride with Unlimited Biking!

Everybody knows biking is great fun, but did you know it is also very good for your health? We would like to present you eight healthy facts about biking. So let’s start.

1. It is a very good training for your heart
If you ride at moderate speed five times a week for at least 30 minutes, your heart will be relieved and your blood circulation will increase. In the long run not only the blood pressure, but also the risk of vasoconstriction decreases. This reduces the risk of heart attack by up to 50 percent, according to the “World Health Organization” (WHO).
The heart muscle also benefits: In the medium to long term, it can become more efficient and can pump more blood through the body. The heart works more efficiently overall.

2. Strengthens the lungs
Whoever pedaling fills the lungs evenly with oxygen and strengthens his respiratory muscles. The regular exercise in the fresh air promotes the immune system, thus protecting against infections.

3. Strengthens the back
Common cause of back pain: lack of exercise and inappropriate stress on the back muscles. Cycling works gently. The rhythmic pedaling promotes the metabolism of the disc, the muscle structure stabilizes the spine, especially in the lumbar region. This relieves tension early.

4. Activates happiness hormones
After 30 to 40 minutes of endurance sports such as cycling, the body releases endorphins and serotonin – quite naturally. Against the happiness hormones negative thoughts have no chance, they also make us more resistant to stress. Studies also showed that patients could reduce anxiety and depression when they exercising regularly.

5. Builds Musculature
From age 30, the muscles shrink – about one pound of muscle mass turns into fat per year due to age. Regular cycling stops this development. The good thing: It trains almost all of the body’s musculature – the leg muscles, the core muscles of the abdomen and back (which also absorbs shocks) and the shoulder-arm muscles.

6. Protects the joints
Sitting – during the work and even at home. Exercise is often too short and this is bad for the joints. Cycling is the ideal balance. The circular, regular leg movement optimally supplies the articular cartilage to the knee and hip with oxygen, thereby also protecting against osteoarthritis. And because the saddle carries 70 to 80 percent of the body weight, biking costs the knee joints significantly less than jogging.

7. Train the coordination
Whether sudden evasive maneuvers, changing speeds or slippery roads – again and again there are new situations in Central Park, to which we have to respond correctly and quickly. The sense of balance also benefits.
