Saks Fifth Avenue has been transforming its holiday windows into winter wonderlands for the past 90-plus Christmases. It starts every year around Thanksgiving through beginning of January at Saks on Fifth Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets. You can’t miss this fabulous light show! It’s a MUST-SEE for everyone. Normally it starts daily around 5pm to 11pm. You don’t have to be there exactly at 5pm, because the good thing is that the show starts every 10 minutes during this time span.
This year the holiday window display reminds you to treat yourself. The department store partnered with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids to transform six of its Fifth Avenue-facing windows into scenes that represent the brand’s most luxurious offerings. The installation is call “Theater of Dreams” and is an ode to the grandeur of the Broadway stage.
Now we know that Saks has a breathtaking lighting show every year but what about Saks itself? All locals know the store and its products but for all newcomers: Saks Fifth Avenue is one of the world’s preeminent specialty retailers and is renowned for its superlative American and international designer collections.
