Pick-Up and Drop - off Convenience

When you book a bicycle with Unlimited Biking for Chicago Triathlon, you have the option to pick up your bike near the transition area on Saturday for the Mandatory bike check-in, at the end of race, drop it off with our on-site team there as well.

Free Helmets

As you may know, participation in the Chicago City Triathlon requires that everyone must wear a helmet for the duration of the race. For your convenience, every one of our rentals comes with a Cannondale helmet at no additional charge.

Pedal Installment and Seat Adjustments

Our bikes come equipped with standard flat pedals to meet the needs of most riders. If you prefer your own pedals, we're happy to install them for you—just remember to bring them along when you pick up your bike.

Our on-site team is also available to assist with seat adjustments, ensuring your bike is comfortable and ready for the ride!

Bike Rental Information:

Please note all bikes must be booked in advance, simply click on the link below. There are different bike rental options pickup options as follows:

Saturday Pick Ups:

5:30AM-10AM: Super Sprint Transition Area – Foster Beach (5200 N. Lake Shore Dr., Chicago IL) For those who riding on Saturday.
2PM-6PM: Sprint & International Transition Area – DuSable Harbor 111 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60601 (For Sunday riders who want to pickup their bikes the day before, riders can check their bikes in the transition area after pickup)

Sunday Pick Ups:

4AM-8AM: Sprint & International Transition Area – DuSable Harbor 111 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60601. This is for Sunday riders who want to pickup their bikes on the day of their ride.

Drop off:

Saturday: All bikes returned to Unlimited Biking team at UB Tent by 10:30 AM latest on the Finish line.
Sunday: All bikes returned to Unlimited Biking team at UB Tent by 2:45 PM latest on the Finish line

Sunday participants are strongly encouraged to utilize the early bike check-in (Saturday, August 24, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.). Enter the Transition Area from the south end, near the corner of Monroe and Lake Shore Drive. Bikes only. No bags. Bike stickers must be applied to gain entry. Overnight security will be provided (no need to bring a bike lock).

NOTE: All our road bikes come with standard flat pedals. If you prefer specific pedals compatible with your cycling shoes, please bring them with you, and we can install them on your rental bike.

How does it work?

Disassemble your bike and ship it to our professional team of mechanics, who will rebuild and tune it to your specifications, deliver it directly to the event, and disassemble it again after the event for return shipping

What's the order of a triathlon?

For a traditional race, such as standard USA Triathlon events, the order of events in a triathlon will always be swim, bike, and run. For safety reasons, the swim is always the first leg of the event, as athletes progressively fatigue throughout the race.

What distance is an Olympic triathlon?

Current events. Triathlon races are held over four distances: Sprint, Olympic, Double Olympic and Triple Olympic. The Olympic triathlon comprises a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike ride, and a 10km run. There are two competitions at the Olympic Games: men’s and women’s individual.
