Pick-Up and Drop - off Convenience

When you book a bicycle with Unlimited Biking for Chicago Triathlon, you have the option to pick up your bike near the transition area on Saturday for the Mandatory bike check-in, at the end of race, drop it off with our on-site team there as well.

Free Helmets

As you may know, participation in the Chicago City Triathlon requires that everyone must wear a helmet for the duration of the race. For your convenience, every one of our rentals comes with a Cannondale helmet at no additional charge.

Pedal Installment and Seat Adjustments

Our bikes come equipped with standard flat pedals to meet the needs of most riders. If you prefer your own pedals, we're happy to install them for you—just remember to bring them along when you pick up your bike.

Our on-site team is also available to assist with seat adjustments, ensuring your bike is comfortable and ready for the ride!

Bike Rental Information:

Please note all bikes must be booked in advance; simply click on the link below. The bike rental pickup options are as follows:

Saturday Pickups:

5:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Super Sprint Race — Pick up your bike near the Super Sprint transition area at Foster Beach (5200 N. Lake Shore Dr., Chicago, IL 60640). This is for those riding on Saturday or both days (Saturday & Sunday).
1:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Sprint & Olympic Races — Pick up at DuSable Harbor (600 E. Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601). This option is for those riding on Sunday. Secure overnight bike check-in is provided by Supertri and is highly recommended!

Drop-off Options:

Saturday: All bikes must be returned to the Unlimited Biking team at the UB Tent by 11:30 AM.
Sunday: All bikes must be returned to the Unlimited Biking team at the UB Tent by 1:30 PM.

Two-Day Riders: NEW!

If you are racing both days (Saturday & Sunday), please select the two-day option during the booking process. Pick up your bike on Saturday morning for the Super Sprint race and keep it through Sunday. Return it to our team after you finish your race on Sunday.

Sunday participants are strongly encouraged to utilize early bike check-in (Saturday 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM) at DuSable Harbor (600 E. Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601).

Note for Road Bike Rentals: All our road bikes come with standard flat pedals. If you prefer specific pedals compatible with your cycling shoes, please bring them with you and our mechanics can install them on your rental bike.

Prefer to ride your own bike? Our Bike Shipping Concierge service makes it easy. Ship your bike to us, and our professional mechanics will assemble it and have it ready for you to pick up at the event. After the ride, return it to our team, and we’ll then disassemble, pack, and ship it back to you. Shipping costs are not included.

What is the Cancellation Policy for Bike Rentals at this Event?

Bike Event Rental Cancellation Policy

Canceling a booking with Unlimited Biking can result in cancellation fees being applied by Unlimited Biking, as outlined below. When canceling any booking you MUST ONLY email to [email protected] to request the cancellation with your reservation details.

100% refund until 90 days before the event
50% refund until 60 days before the event
0% refund 30 days before the event

Official Event Cancellation: If the event is canceled by the organizers for any reason, you may request a 50% refund or a 100% credit back to your account. This option is available at any time leading up to the event and does not change the 100% refund policy available for those who cancel 90 days in advance.

You always have the option to use your credit with us in stores or towards next year’s rental.

Each rental includes a bike, a helmet, and convenient pickup and drop-off options.

Road Bikes & Carbon Bikes: Comes with two water bottle cages, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.

How do I select the right bike type for me?

We offer a variety of bike types to suit different riding styles, routes and preferences. Here’s a quick guide:
- CAAD Aluminum Road Bike: A performance-focused bike made of aluminum frame and has rim brakes. Perfect for longer or faster rides, especially distances of 50 miles or more. It’s ideal for riders with specific pedal preferences.
- Carbon Synapse Road Bike: Our top-performing model with a carbon frame, offering unparalleled speed, responsiveness, and ride quality. It comes with disc brakes and It’s the lightest bike we offer. Perfect for those seeking maximum performance.

What is the right bike size for me?

Bike sizes depend on the model and height. When booking, you’ll see size options listed along with the corresponding height ranges to help you select the right fit.

What if I need a helmet but didn’t request one?

Helmets are included at no extra cost. As helmets are mandatory for the event, we ensure there are plenty available for all riders.

What can I fit into the bike bag?

The handlebar bike bag can hold small items such as a water bottle, a set of keys, a phone, and a tube kit. Dimensions are approximately 9 inches wide by 5 inches in diameter, with a zip closure.

Do you provide spare tubes in case I get a flat?

We do not provide spare tubes with rentals. If you experience a flat tire during the ride, we recommend reaching out to the event’s ride support team for assistance. It’s always a good idea to carry a spare tube that fits your bike, as we strongly recommend being prepared for such situations.
