When you book a bicycle with Unlimited Biking for Major Taylor Cycling Convention, you can conveniently pick up your bike from our team on your selected day and simply drop it off at the finish line once you’re done riding.

Free Helmets

For Major Taylor Cycling Convention, all participants are required to wear a helmet while riding. For your convenience, every bike rental from Unlimited Biking includes a Cannondale helmet at no additional charge.

Pedal Installment and Seat Adjustments

Our bikes come equipped with standard flat pedals to meet the needs of most riders. If you prefer your own pedals, we're happy to install them for you—just remember to bring them along when you pick up your bike.

Our on-site team is also available to assist with seat adjustments, ensuring your bike is comfortable and ready for the ride!

About

The 5th Annual Major Taylor International Cycling Convention is heading to the East Coast, hosted in the vibrant city of Durham, North Carolina. Co-hosted by the Major Taylor Cycling Club North Carolina (MTCCNC), this year’s event is framed by the beauty of the Carolinas and the rich cultural legacy of Durham. It offers cyclists from across the country a unique opportunity to ride, reflect, and reconnect in honor of the legendary Major Taylor.

Over the course of four days, participants will experience curated scenic routes, hands-on clinics, and community-centered programming. These moments are designed to celebrate resilience, inclusion, and unity through cycling. Whether a seasoned rider, a community advocate, or a beginner, every cyclist is welcome to join this movement to build community and pedal forward together.

We are delighted to partner with the convention this year to offer premium bike rentals and shipping concierge services for all participants. Whether you are traveling from afar or looking for a high-performance ride on-site, our goal is to provide a seamless experience so you can focus on the journey.

Bike Rental Information:

All bikes must be booked in advance; simply click on the link below to reserve your bike. There are various rental pickup options depending on how many days you would like to participate in the ride:

3-Day Option (Thursday through Saturday): Pickup is available at CCB Plaza (201 Corcoran St) on Thursday. This option allows you to rent the bike for all 3 days.
2-Day Option (Friday & Saturday): If you are not riding Thursday, choose this option to ride both Friday and Saturday!
1-Day Options: For single-day riders, bikes are available for pickup each morning of the ride. Single day options are for each day (Thursday, Friday or Saturday).

Pricing Note: The price displayed is for single-day rides—each additional day is only $20 more!

Bike Rental Return: Return your bike to our team on-site after your final ride. If you have a two-day rental, we will see you at the end of your second day. Our team is on-site every day, so feel free to stop by if you need anything in the meantime!

During bike rental pickup, we are happy to assist with height adjustments, pedal installation on road bikes if needed, and provide you with a complimentary helmet.

Note for Road Bike Rentals: All our road bikes come with standard flat pedals. If you prefer specific pedals compatible with your cycling shoes, please bring them with you and our mechanics will install them on your rental bike.

Bike Shipping / Concierge

Prefer to ride your own bike? Our Bike Shipping Concierge service makes it easy. Ship your bike to us, and our professional mechanics will assemble it and have it ready for you. After the ride, return it to our team, we’ll then disassemble, pack, and ship it back to you. Shipping costs are not included.

What is the Cancellation Policy for Bike Rentals at this Event?

Bike Event Rental Cancellation Policy

Canceling a booking with Unlimited Biking can result in cancellation fees being applied by Unlimited Biking, as outlined below. When canceling any booking you MUST ONLY email to [email protected] to request the cancellation with your reservation details.

100% refund until 90 days before the event
50% refund until 60 days before the event
0% refund 30 days before the event

Official Event Cancellation: If the event is canceled by the organizers for any reason, you may request a 50% refund or a 100% credit back to your account. This option is available at any time leading up to the event and does not change the 100% refund policy available for those who cancel 90 days in advance.

You always have the option to use your credit with us in stores or towards next year’s rental.

What is included with the rental?

Each rental includes a bike, a helmet, and convenient pickup and drop-off options.

What is included with each bike?

Our bikes come with two water bottle cages holders, a removable handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.

What is the right bike size for me?

Bike sizes depend on the model. When booking, you’ll see size options listed along with the corresponding height ranges to help you select the right fit.

What is the size of the tube?

CAAD Aluminum Road Bike: 700x25c
Carbon Bikes: 700x28c

Do you provide spare tubes in case I get a flat?

We do not provide spare tubes with rentals. If you experience a flat tire during the ride, we recommend reaching out to the event’s ride support team for assistance. It’s always a good idea to carry a spare tube that fits your bike, as we strongly recommend being prepared for such situations.
