Next, it’s on to the city’s largest and most popular green space spanning over 90 acres: Park Sempione. Here you’ll find locals lounging with a picnic spread, dogs running around, and the city gate, “Porta Sempione” which was part of the ancient Roman walls of Milan. We’ll cruise into the corner of the park to explore Sforza Castle, a medieval citadel dating back to the 14th century that is now home to numerous museums. Some of the notable works you can find inside these museums come from Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Michelangelo – just to name a few! Your tour will cover numerous other Milan attractions, but none more famous than its Duomo – the Milan Cathedral. Situated in Duomo Square near Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (Italy’s oldest shopping mall), the Duomo di Milano is the largest church in Italy and is one of the most unique. Its white marble and gothic style sets it apart from many churches you’ll see in your time here and it boasts an incredible history!
