Best Buddies Challenge: New York riders will pick up their bikes from Unlimited Biking Central Park location and drop off at the finish line at Glenmere Mansion 634 Pine Hill Rd, Chester, NY 10918

Pedal Installation and Seat Adjustments

Unlimited Biking rental road bikes come equipped with standard flat pedals to meet the needs of most riders. If you prefer your own pedals, we're happy to install them for you—just remember to bring them along when you pick up your bike.

Our on-site team is also available to assist with seat adjustments, ensuring your bike is comfortable and ready for your ride!

There’s nothing quite like the Best Buddies Challenge. Cyclists from all walks of life sign up—some as individuals, others forming teams with friends—all coming together to help Best Buddies enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, participants will ride distances of 100, 36, or 15 miles alongside cyclists of every ability level, including Tour de France legends Mark Cavendish, Alberto Contador, and others. The scenic route stretches from New York City to Glenmere Mansion in the Ramapo Mountains, with additional shorter-distance options to be announced soon. All rides are fully supported, offering rest stops approximately every 25 miles and support vehicles along the course.

Bike Rental Information:

All bikes must be booked in advance, simply click on the link below to reserve your bike.

If you are riding the 100 Miles route, then your bike will be available to you in Manhattan at 59th St & 7th Ave the morning of the ride. Please go ahead and book from the available pickup options,

Those participating in the shorter-distance rides starting and finishing at Glenmere Mansion, you have two options regarding the bike rentals:

If you are taking the rider organizers provided Shuttle from Manhattan
1. Pick up your rental bike at the 100-mile start line in Manhattan (59th & 7th)
2. Board the shuttle with your bike, and the ride organizers will transport you and your rental bike directly to Glenmere Mansion for the start of your ride.
If you are transporting Yourself to Glenmere Mansion
1. Head straight to Glenmere Mansion.
2. your bike will be waiting for you at Glenmere when you arrive: We are working with the ride organizers to make sure your rental bike is loaded onto the ride shuttle.

During bike rental pickup, we are happy to assist with height adjustments, pedal installation on road bikes if needed, and provide you with a free helmet.

Bike rentals drop off: All bikes will be collected by our team at the Glenmere Mansion (finish line).

Note for Road Bikes Rentals: All our road bikes come with standard flat pedals. If you prefer specific pedals compatible with your cycling shoes, please bring them with you, and we can install them on your rental bike.

Bike Event Rental Cancellation Policy

Canceling a booking with Unlimited Biking can result in cancellation fees being applied by Unlimited Biking, as outlined below. When canceling any booking you MUST email [email protected] to request the cancellation with your reservation details.

100% refund until 90 days before the event
50% refund until 60 days before the event
0% refund 30 days before the event

You always have the option to use your credit with us in stores or towards next year’s rental.

What is included with each bike?

Hybrid Bikes: Comes with one water bottle cage, a handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals.
Road Bikes & Carbon Bikes: Comes with two water bottle cages, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.
eBikes: Comes with handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals and a fully charged battery.

Tandem Bike: Comes with two water bottle cages, one for each rider, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.

What is a Hybrid bike?

A Hybrid bike combines features of road bikes, touring bikes, and mountain bikes, making it versatile and suitable for a variety of terrains. Hybrid bikes are designed for general-purpose riding over various surfaces, offering a balance of comfort and performance. They typically have medium-width tires for better grip and stability, an upright riding position for comfort, and a lightweight frame for ease of handling. Hybrid bikes are an excellent choice for casual rides, commuting, and recreational cycling.

How do I select the right bike type for me?

We offer a variety of bike types to suit different riding styles, routes and preferences. Here’s a quick guide:
- CAAD Aluminum Road Bike: A performance-focused bike made of aluminum frame and has rim brakes. Perfect for longer or faster rides, especially distances of 50 miles or more. It’s ideal for riders with specific pedal preferences.
- Carbon Synapse Road Bike: Our top-performing model with a carbon frame, offering unparalleled speed, responsiveness, and ride quality. It comes with disc brakes and It’s the lightest bike we offer. Perfect for those seeking maximum performance.

What is the right bike size for me?

Bike sizes depend on the model. When booking, you’ll see size options listed along with the corresponding height ranges to help you select the right fit.

What if I need a helmet but didn’t request one?

Helmets are included at no extra cost. As helmets are mandatory for the event, we ensure there are plenty available for all riders.

What can I fit into the bike bag?

The handlebar bike bag can hold small items such as a water bottle, a set of keys, a phone, and a tube kit. Dimensions are approximately 9 inches wide by 5 inches in diameter, with a zip closure.

What is the size of the tube?

Do you provide spare tubes in case I get a flat?

We do not provide spare tubes with rentals. If you experience a flat tire during the ride, we recommend reaching out to the event’s ride support team for assistance. It’s always a good idea to carry a spare tube that fits your bike, as we strongly recommend being prepared for such situations.
