As you may know, participation in the California Coast Classic Bike Ride requires that everyone must wear a helmet for the duration of the ride. For your convenience, every one of our rentals comes with a Cannondale helmet at no additional charge.

Pick-Up and Drop - off Convenience

When booking a bicycle with Unlimited Biking for the California Coast Classic Bike Ride will pick up their bikes at the start line and then drop-off with our on-site team at the finish line. No need to haul your rental to/from the ride!

Pedal Installment and Seat Adjustments

Our bikes come equipped with standard flat pedals to meet the needs of most riders. If you prefer your own pedals, we're happy to install them for you—just remember to bring them along when you pick up your bike.

Our on-site team is also available to assist with seat adjustments, ensuring your bike is comfortable and ready for the ride!

Take an unforgettable ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles! The award-winning California Coast Classic stands the test of time for great reasons. Known for its stunning scenery, exceptional support, and warm community, this self-paced cycling adventure is the winner of Gran Fondo Guide’s Best Charity Bike Tour Award, and it’s the Arthritis Foundation’s flagship destination cycling experience.

Beginner and experienced cyclists can participate in this fully-supported bucket list ride along California’s iconic Highway 1 each fall, pedaling along the Pacific Ocean, through wineries, harbors, seaside farms, redwood forests, and coastal towns. We’re on a mission to help the millions of people who journey with arthritis.

Bike Rental Information

All bikes must be booked in advance. Please ensure you have reserved your bike before arriving for pickup.

Pickup Information

Pickup Location: Unlimited Biking Fisherman’s Wharf, 765 Beach St, San Francisco, CA 94109 (Note: This is located just 3 blocks from the Hyatt Centric packet pickup)

Pickup Options:

Thursday (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM): The “early-bird” option. Use this time to get your gear sorted and familiarize yourself with the bike.
Friday (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM): The “day-before” option. Perfect for those arriving just before the grand depart.

Drop-off Information

At the end of the ride, return your bike and gear to the Unlimited Biking team members at the finish line.

Important Note for Road Bikes: Our road bikes are equipped with standard flat pedals. If you use specific cycling shoes, please bring your own pedals with you; our team will be happy to install them on your rental.

Bike Shuttle Information

Pre-Ride: Los Angeles to San Francisco Shuttle

Drop-off: Bring your bike to Unlimited Biking Santa Monica (1431 Ocean Ave) by Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Hours: 9 AM – 7 PM.
Pick-up options in SF:
- Thursday: Between 12 PM and 7 PM at the Unlimited Biking Fisherman’s Wharf store.
- Friday: Between 9 AM and 2:00 PM at the store, or 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Expo (Hyatt Centric).

Post-Ride: Los Angeles to San Francisco

Drop-off: Drop off your bike at the finish line with our team in LA on the final day of the ride (October 3rd).
Pick-up: Bikes will be available at Unlimited Biking Fisherman’s Wharf (757 Beach St) starting October 6th.
Hours: 9 AM – 7 PM.

Bike Event Rental Cancellation Policy

Canceling a booking with Unlimited Biking can result in cancellation fees being applied by Unlimited Biking, as outlined below. When canceling any booking you MUST email [email protected] to request the cancellation with your reservation details.

100% refund until 90 days before the event
50% refund until 60 days before the event
0% refund 30 days before the event

You always have the option to use your credit with us in stores or towards next year’s rental.

What is included with the rental?

Each rental includes a bike, a helmet, and convenient pickup and drop-off options.

What is included with each bike?

Hybrid Bikes: Comes with one water bottle cage, a handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals.
Road Bikes & Carbon Bikes: Comes with two water bottle cages, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.
eBikes: Comes with handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals and a fully charged battery.
Tandem Bike: Comes with two water bottle cages, one for each rider, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.

What is a Hybrid bike?

A Hybrid bike combines features of road bikes, touring bikes, and mountain bikes, making it versatile and suitable for a variety of terrains. Hybrid bikes are designed for general-purpose riding over various surfaces, offering a balance of comfort and performance. They typically have medium-width tires for better grip and stability, an upright riding position for comfort, and a lightweight frame for ease of handling. Hybrid bikes are an excellent choice for casual rides, commuting, and recreational cycling.

How do I select the right bike type for me?

We offer a variety of bike types to suit different riding styles, routes and preferences. Here’s a quick guide:
- Hybrid Step-through Bike: Designed for comfort and leisure, this bike features a step-through frame for easy mounting, an upright riding position, and 2″ wide tires. Ideal for short, relaxed rides.
- Hybrid Straight Frame Bike: Balancing comfort and performance, this bike has a traditional top bar frame and road tires. It’s lighter than the step-through model, making it well-suited for most event routes.
- CAAD Aluminum Road Bike: A performance-focused bike made of aluminum frame and has rim brakes. Perfect for longer or faster rides, especially distances of 50 miles or more. It’s ideal for riders with specific pedal preferences.
- Carbon Synapse Road Bike: Our top-performing model with a carbon frame, offering unparalleled speed, responsiveness, and ride quality. It comes with disc brakes and It’s the lightest bike we offer. Perfect for those seeking maximum performance.

What is the right bike size for me?

Bike sizes depend on the model. When booking, you’ll see size options listed along with the corresponding height ranges to help you select the right fit.

What if I need a helmet but didn’t request one?

Helmets are included at no extra cost. As helmets are mandatory for the event, we ensure there are plenty available for all riders.

What can I fit into the bike bag?

The handlebar bike bag can hold small items such as a water bottle, a set of keys, a phone, and a tube kit. Dimensions are approximately 9 inches wide by 5 inches in diameter, with a zip closure.

Do you provide spare tubes in case I get a flat?

We do not provide spare tubes with rentals. If you experience a flat tire during the ride, we recommend reaching out to the event’s ride support team for assistance. It’s always a good idea to carry a spare tube that fits your bike, as we strongly recommend being prepared for such situations.
