Our bikes come equipped with standard flat pedals to meet the needs of most riders. If you prefer your own pedals, we're happy to install them for you—just remember to bring them along when you pick up your bike.

Our on-site team is also available to assist with seat adjustments, ensuring your bike is comfortable and ready for the ride!

Our team ensures a smooth process from start to finish, so you can focus on enjoying the ride without the worry of transporting or storing a bike.

Complimentary Helmets

As you may know, participation in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour requires that everyone must wear a helmet for the duration of the race. For your convenience, every one of our rentals comes with a Cannondale helmet at no additional charge.

About

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour, the world’s biggest charitable bike ride, is held annually on the first Sunday in May in New York City. The Tour starts in Lower Manhattan and travels through all five boroughs of NYC: Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. Taking place on 40 miles of traffic-free streets, the Tour draws over 32,000 cyclists from around the world. Riders of all skill levels are welcome to join this yearly celebration on wheels.

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is organized by Bike New York and is a fundraiser for its free educational, outreach, and advocacy programs. Unlimited Biking is proud to be the official Tour bike rental partner.

Bike Rental Information*

Gear up for an unforgettable ride through New York City with a hassle-free bike rental from Unlimited Biking. As the official bike rental partner of the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, we provide high-quality bikes, helmets, and seamless logistics to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Pick-Up Options

Early Pick-Up (Thursday & Friday): From our Brooklyn Bridge store at Lower Manhattan (79 Chambers St, New York, NY 10007), 11 AM – 7 PM. Ideal for those who want extra time with their bike.
Standard Pick-Up (Saturday): At our event setup in Downtown Manhattan (105 Broad St), 1 PM – 8 PM. Pickup your bike the day before the ride.
Premium Pass Pick-Up (Sunday): Near start line in Downtown Manhattan(105 Broad St), 6 AM – 9 AM. Available for Premium Pass holders only.

Note: Ebikes are available for pickup on Sunday only so please select that option while booking. No early pick up option is available for Ebikes.

Drop-Off Options

Premium Pass Drop-Off: Skip the hours-long bike queue at the ferry! With thousands of riders trying to board with bikes, dropping your bike with our team means you can easily join the regular passenger line for a much quicker and easier return to the city. And even if you’re not taking the ferry, you’re all set without the hassle of your bike.
Next Day Drop-Off: Midtown Manhattan (56 W 56th St), by 7 PM Monday.

Bike Shipping Concierge*

Prefer to ride your own bike? Our Bike Shipping Concierge service makes it easy. Ship your bike to us, and our professional mechanics will assemble it and have it ready for you to pick up in Lower Manhattan on Friday or Saturday. After the ride, drop it off at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, where we’ll disassemble, pack, and ship it back to you. Shipping costs are not included.

What's the cancellation policy for TD Five Boro Bike Tour Event Rental?

Please notify us at [email protected] if you need to cancel your event rental reservation for any reason. Cancellations may ONLY be done via email.

-For the 2026 ride, any cancellations made before 5PM EST on 12/31/2025 will be eligible for a full refund.

-For the 2026 ride, any cancellations made before 5PM EST on 02/28/2026 will result in a 50% cancellation fee. (Eligible for a 50% REFUND)

-For the 2026 ride, any cancellations made at or after 5PM EST on 02/28/2026 will result in a 100% cancellation fee. (NO REFUND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES)

If the event is cancelled by Bike New York for any reason including weather related or health concerns, Unlimited Biking will be providing a full credit to use for the event for next year.

What are the Premium Pass options?

We offer Premium Pass options for both Pick-Up and Drop-Off for the most convenient bike rental experience for one of the biggest events of the year!

Premium Pass Pick-Up: Pick up your bike downtown on Sunday morning, right before the ride. Don’t worry about storing your bike before the event – we’ve got you covered!

Premium Pass Drop-Off: Drop off your bike at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal after the event for a bike-free trip back to Manhattan! Skip the line of bicycles and walk right onto the ferry after riding 40 miles of NYC streets.

What is included with a bike rental?

When you rent a bike, we include a helmet, handlebar bike bag, and a water bottle cage!

What is a Hybrid bike?

A Hybrid bike combines features of road bikes, touring bikes, and mountain bikes, making it versatile and suitable for a variety of terrains. Hybrid bikes are designed for general-purpose riding over various surfaces, offering a balance of comfort and performance. They typically have medium-width tires for better grip and stability, an upright riding position for comfort, and a lightweight frame for ease of handling. Hybrid bikes are an excellent choice for casual rides, commuting, and recreational cycling.

How do I select the right bike type for me?

We offer a variety of bike types for our tours. The ideal choice for you largely depends on your riding style and preferences. Here’s a brief guide to help you decide:

Hybrid Straight Frame Bike: This bike is designed for both comfort and performance. It’s the lightest option in our hybrid range. If you enjoy leisurely rides and value a blend of comfort and agility, this bike is an excellent choice.
Hybrid Step-through Bike: This bike is built for both comfort and performance. The bike is slightly heavier than the straight-frame hybrid but If you are looking for comfort this is the perfect bike for you!
Road Bike: The CAAD is a straight-framed aluminum road bike that is built for performance. If you like to ride faster, have pedal preferences, and a better quality bike, this one’s for you!
Carbon Bike: The Carbon Synapse is our top-tier, straight-frame road bike made from carbon. It’s the lightest in our collection, designed to achieve top speeds effortlessly.
Pedal Assist E-Bike: Offering a blend of comfort and ease, these electric bikes assist your pedaling, making your ride less hustle. With adjustable assistance levels, you can tailor your effort to suit the journey. They have ample battery range to cover the tour, provided the assistance level is managed effectively. Ideal for a relaxed, effortless ride.

What is the right bike size for me?

Bike sizes depend on the model. When booking, you’ll see size options listed along with the corresponding height ranges to help you select the right fit.

Can I get help picking my bike?

Of course! Our team is always happy to help, please give us a call at 212-749-4444 to book your bike with our team!

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Yes, helmets are required for the event. Helmets are provided with your rental bike at no additional cost!

Can I get a basket with my bike?

While we understand the convenience a basket can offer, for safety reasons, we do not provide baskets during the tour. However, we’ve got you covered! All our bikes come equipped with handlebar bags, which are perfect for carrying small items. Plus, there’s a water bottle cage on every bike (two cages on road bikes) to keep you hydrated throughout your ride. This setup ensures your belongings are secure and accessible, while keeping safety our top priority.

Can I bring my own saddle or seatpost?

We are not able to change out the saddle or seatpost, as the change can result in damage to the bicycle. The ladies step-through bikes have an Ultra Comfort Saddle, the Men Hybrid has the Fitness Ergo Saddle, which is more on the sportier side but comfortable as well. The CAAD OPTIMO Road Bike has the Stage Ergo, and the Synapse has the Selle Royal Seta S1.

Do I need to be an experienced cyclist to participate?

The Five Boro Bike Tour is a challenging ride, but it is open to cyclists of all levels. The route is mostly flat, with a few hills. There are plenty of rest stops along the way, and you can take your time and enjoy the scenery.

How long does the 5 Boro bike tour take?

Your start time depends on your starting wave, but you should expect the ride to take about 5 hours.

How many people do the Five Boro Bike Tour?

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is an annual recreational cycling event in New York City organized by Bike New York. It is a charity event to fund Bike New York’s education programs with over 32,000 riders.

What are the rest stops like?

There are eight rest stops along the route, where you can get food, water, and use the restroom. The rest stops are also a great place to meet other riders and take in the views.

What is included with each bike?

Hybrid Bikes: Comes with one water bottle cage, a handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals.
Road Bikes & Carbon Bikes: Comes with two water bottle cages, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.
eBikes: Comes with handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals and a fully charged battery.
Tandem Bike: Comes with two water bottle cages, one for each rider, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.

What can I fit into the bike bag?

The handlebar bike bag can hold small items such as a water bottle, a set of keys, a phone, and a tube kit. Dimensions are approximately 9 inches wide by 5 inches in diameter, with a zip closure.

Do you provide spare tubes in case I get a flat?

We do not provide spare tubes with rentals. If you experience a flat tire during the ride, we recommend reaching out to the event’s ride support team for assistance. It’s always a good idea to carry a spare tube that fits your bike, as we strongly recommend being prepared for such situations. Below are the tube sizes:
