-For the 2027 ride, any cancellations made before 5PM EST on 12/31/2026 will be eligible for a full refund.

-For the 2027 ride, any cancellations made before 5PM EST on 02/28/2027 will result in a 50% cancellation fee. (Eligible for a 50% REFUND)

-For the 2027 ride, any cancellations made at or after 5PM EST on 02/28/2027 will result in a 100% cancellation fee. (NO REFUND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES)

If the event is cancelled by Bike New York for any reason including weather related or health concerns, Unlimited Biking will be providing a full credit to use for the event for next year.

We offer Premium Pass options for both Pick-Up and Drop-Off for the most convenient bike rental experience for one of the biggest events of the year!

Premium Pass Pick-Up: Pick up your bike downtown on Sunday morning, right before the ride. Don’t worry about storing your bike before the event – we’ve got you covered!

Premium Pass Drop-Off: Drop off your bike at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal after the event for a bike-free trip back to Manhattan! Skip the line of bicycles and walk right onto the ferry after riding 40 miles of NYC streets.

A Hybrid bike combines features of road bikes, touring bikes, and mountain bikes, making it versatile and suitable for a variety of terrains. Hybrid bikes are designed for general-purpose riding over various surfaces, offering a balance of comfort and performance. They typically have medium-width tires for better grip and stability, an upright riding position for comfort, and a lightweight frame for ease of handling. Hybrid bikes are an excellent choice for casual rides, commuting, and recreational cycling.

We offer a variety of bike types for our tours. The ideal choice for you largely depends on your riding style and preferences. Here’s a brief guide to help you decide:

• Hybrid Straight Frame Bike: This bike is designed for both comfort and performance. It’s the lightest option in our hybrid range. If you enjoy leisurely rides and value a blend of comfort and agility, this bike is an excellent choice.
• Hybrid Step-through Bike: This bike is built for both comfort and performance. The bike is slightly heavier than the straight-frame hybrid but If you are looking for comfort this is the perfect bike for you!
• Road Bike: The CAAD is a straight-framed aluminum road bike that is built for performance. If you like to ride faster, have pedal preferences, and a better quality bike, this one’s for you!
• Carbon Bike: The Carbon Synapse is our top-tier, straight-frame road bike made from carbon. It’s the lightest in our collection, designed to achieve top speeds effortlessly.
• Pedal Assist E-Bike: Offering a blend of comfort and ease, these electric bikes assist your pedaling, making your ride less hustle. With adjustable assistance levels, you can tailor your effort to suit the journey. They have ample battery range to cover the tour, provided the assistance level is managed effectively. Ideal for a relaxed, effortless ride.

Yes, helmets are required for the event. Helmets are provided with your rental bike at no additional cost! 

While we understand the convenience a basket can offer, for safety reasons, we do not provide baskets during the tour. However, we’ve got you covered! All our bikes come equipped with handlebar bags, which are perfect for carrying small items. Plus, there’s a water bottle cage on every bike (two cages on road bikes) to keep you hydrated throughout your ride. This setup ensures your belongings are secure and accessible, while keeping safety our top priority.

We are not able to change out the saddle or seatpost, as the change can result in damage to the bicycle. The ladies step-through bikes have an Ultra Comfort Saddle, the Men Hybrid has the Fitness Ergo Saddle, which is more on the sportier side but comfortable as well. The CAAD OPTIMO Road Bike has the Stage Ergo, and the Synapse has the Selle Royal Seta S1.

The Five Boro Bike Tour is a challenging ride, but it is open to cyclists of all levels. The route is mostly flat, with a few hills. There are plenty of rest stops along the way, and you can take your time and enjoy the scenery.

Your start time depends on your starting wave, but you should expect the ride to take about 5 hours.

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is an annual recreational cycling event in New York City organized by Bike New York. It is a charity event to fund Bike New York’s education programs with over 32,000 riders.

There are eight rest stops along the route, where you can get food, water, and use the restroom. The rest stops are also a great place to meet other riders and take in the views.

• Hybrid Bikes: Comes with one water bottle cage, a handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals.
• Road Bikes & Carbon Bikes: Comes with two water bottle cages, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.
• eBikes: Comes with handlebar bag, a quick-release adjustable seatpost, and flat pedals and a fully charged battery.
• Tandem Bike: Comes with two water bottle cages, one for each rider, a handlebar bag, and standard flat pedals.

• The handlebar bike bag can hold small items such as a water bottle, a set of keys, a phone, and a tube kit. Dimensions are approximately 9 inches wide by 5 inches in diameter, with a zip closure.

We do not provide spare tubes with rentals. If you experience a flat tire during the ride, we recommend reaching out to the event’s ride support team for assistance. It’s always a good idea to carry a spare tube that fits your bike, as we strongly recommend being prepared for such situations. Below are the tube sizes:

Your bike must arrive at least 7 days prior to the event. A return shipping label is required.
